Sally Edward is a trombone player for Mr. Wilson’s Second Liners and is also Mr. Wilson’s project producer.
She is based in Huddersfield, where she first studied music. Sally cut her teeth playing and training with distinguished, heritage brass bands such as Sellers International Band and The Hammonds Saltaire Band, and has also received tutoring from world-renowned solo trombonist, composer and conductor, Christian Lindberg.
Sally gained a BMus in performance at the University of Huddersfield where she studied trombone, piano and voice.
She has toured across the UK with funk band Huggy, described by Steve Lamacq as “…one original massive supercharged disco ball.”
Sally also featured on Embrace's 1998 critically acclaimed first album The Good Will Out. The album became one of the fastest selling debut albums in Brit Pop history, held the number one slot in the UK album charts and sold over 500,000 copies domestically.
For a number of years, Sally toured with live dance act Kava Kava, travelling across Europe, notching up performances at Glastonbury Festival, Sziget Festival and Trutnov Festival. The band’s music has been featured in a number of films and TV shows.
Following a number of years playing with heavy funk and soul band the Nu Popes, Sally now performs regularly with fellow Mr. Wilson’s bandmate, Atholl Ransome, in wild klezmer band, Klonk. Klonk regularly perform at UK festivals such as Boomtown, Beatherder, Solfest, Maui Maui, Bearded Theory & many more.
