Melanie Williams is a singer-songwriter, producer and actor and sings with Mr. Wilson’s Second Liners as guest vocalist.
Melanie is well known for her chart topping club anthem with Sub Sub Ain’t No Love Ain’t No Use” as well as ”Everyday Thang” (Frankie Knuckles), ”Talk Much“ (David Morales); and for those in the know ”Don’t Wanna Ask You” (Satoshi Tomiie) and “Not Enough” (Junior Vasquez), who played this anthem through floods of tears at the closing of the iconic Sound Factory in New York.
Melanie’s vocal contribution to recording collaborations and live performances include music industry giants and brands such as Hacienda Classical, Carl Cox and Eric Powell’s Mobile Disco and their latest MD Funk Connection Album.
She first guested as a featured vocalist with Mr. Wilson’s Second Liners, as part of their 2019 Durnham Brass Festival commission ‘Promised Land’ and has since performed with the band as part of their ‘Blow Out’ staged venue performances as well as their live instrumental show of Leftfield’s iconic album “Leftism” at Blue Dot Festival 2022, which inspired rave reviews.
Throughout the pandemic lockdowns Melanie was a delightful featured artist amongst Mr. Wilson’s Second Liners pandemic music video series - Lockdown Liners- which garnered viral views on Youtube she but also contributed to the soundtrack and featured in Vegan Vampires from Zorg by producer Mike Bennett. This B-movie style horror film centred around a spoof vinyl store documentary. Single releases from the film soundtrack, such as ‘The Healer’ and ‘Heterochromia’, feature Peter Hook on bass.
From club anthems to neo soul to writing contributions on the new Fuzzbox album taking her into pop punk ,the journey continues around the world, covering just about every eclectic blend throughout her career. Melanie is currently expanding upon writing collaborations with David Morales, Joe Roberts, Eric Gooden, Mike Bennet, Roni Size, Vince Vega, Atari Safari, MD Trax to intuit what might creatively pop up next.
