David plays drums with Mr. Wilson’s Second Liners.
David Insua-Cao is a freelance drummer and percussionist living in Todmorden, Calderdale. He studied at the RNCM from 2004-’08, and is originally from Croydon. David has performed internationally with various companies including Giffords Circus, Circo Raluy (Catalonia), Ramshacklicious street-theatre company, Can't Sit Still theatre company, Spymonkey comedy theatre, and 1927 Theatre company. With 1927 he has performed at international arts festivals including, Melbourne, Spoleto USA and Edinburgh. This October and November he will be performing with 1927 at the Shanghai international festival and touring around East China.
David regularly performs with groups and performers including afro-futurist artist Nwando Ebizie, vintage pop band The Black Shakes, percussionist Delia Stevens.
David often works for the charity Jessie's Fund who help children with additional and complex needs communicate through music. He also works for Music for the Many, a Todmorden based charity providing free of charge music opportunities to children in the area. David runs the Calderdale Fantasy Orchestra, in Todmorden, an all inclusive group playing an eclectic mix of music from Sun Ra to David Bowie, Delia Derbyshire to Beverly Glenn-Copeland and with a heavy emphasis on improvisation.
